Welcome to The Gosling, a place where “extended family” are always welcome! Celebrating 20 years as a beloved rental home in 2025, this inviting beach retreat is located in Sussex Shores, the first private community just north of the Town of Bethany Beach. You’re less than half a mile from downtown Bethany Beach, the boardwalk, shopping, and dining that is only an easy walk or bike ride away.

Sussex Shores is a peaceful, family-friendly neighborhood with a private beach, quiet streets, and off-street parking. Community and beach access are monitored by private security, creating a safe and relaxed environment for everyone. From mid-June through Labor Day, full-time lifeguards are on duty. Once you experience the ease of a private beach, it’s hard to go back to the crowds!

The Gosling sits just 75 yards from the beach and offers a roomy, single-story layout that’s ideal for families of all ages. All bedrooms are tucked along the back of the home, separated from the living spaces by a hallway, so early risers and night owls can enjoy their own schedules.

Sleeping arrangements include:

Primary bedroom: queen bed
Bedroom 2: two built-in twin bunk beds (4 twins total)
Bedrooms 3 & 4: two twin beds each

Inside, you’ll find a comfortable mix of coastal charm and modern updates, including hardwood floors throughout and granite countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms. Relax in the cozy living room and dining area, unwind in the sunroom, or enjoy the screened porch, complete with outdoor stereo speakers. After a day on the beach, rinse off in the outdoor shower and store all your gear in the detached shed, perfect for bikes, umbrellas, and beach essentials.

Weekly rentals run Friday to Friday, helping you skip the busiest weekend traffic. End-of-stay maid service is also included.

For even more fun, Bethany Bike Shop, with bike and kayak rentals for adults and kids, is conveniently located within walking distance. Host can provide suggestions on linen, towel (bath and beach), and infant equipment rental services.
